My Pink Fix!

As with the Cinderella cake, I was very excited when I was asked to make a ballerina!  Don't get me wrong, I love getting to make all the superheros, dump trucks and lego cakes for my sons and nephews, but getting my hands on pink icing is a bit of a rush!  This was a 4 layer white cake with fresh strawberry filling and buttercream.  The ballerina, large flower and "5" were formed out of gumpaste, while fondant was used for the rest of the decorations.  I was happy to hear that the birthday girl "loved it" and look forward to doing this again one day!

More Pink!

Just had to get the pink bug out of my system, so decided to play a little!  I've been wanting to try this ruffle technique and will definitely do it again, now that I know what I would do differently.  It's not perfect but it's cute and very easy!  Why not add a little flower?!

Spring Cupcakes!

These springy cupcakes were made for a birthday surprise!  I loved the cupcake liners, which influenced the colours used in the cupcakes - should have taken a picture of them!
