Power Cheerleader Cupcakes!

These chocolate cupcakes with Oreo filling were made to celebrate the birthday of an 11 year old power cheerleader!

The "V" represents the team name and all of the decorations incorporated the team colours.

The birthday girl requested headphones on a couple of the cupcakes.  I made a few and I think they are my favourite part, along with the cute polka dot liners (love those polka dots)!!!

Welcome Sparkle!

I was honoured to make the cake for my lovely cousin's baby shower!  It was a diaper themed shower, so a diaper bag seemed like a good idea!  I truly enjoyed making this one, especially when I realized that it was going to work!
The cake was entirely edible, including this cute little teddy bear made out of fondant.  It was a 4 tiered chocolate and white, covered in buttercream and fondant.  I used a quilting technique, which I really like to incorporate for a baby shower cake.  I used the same tool to add stitching to the strap.

In case you're wondering, Sparkle is the nickname the baby affectionately received way back when!  Can't wait to meet you Sparkle Harris!!!

Happy Birthday Joey!

My mother-in-law recently celebrated a special
birthday and I was asked to make cupcakes.  No specifics were made regarding the cupcakes, so I decided to go with chocolate topped with a chocolate buttercream swirl...usually a safe bet!

I added a bit of pink glitter to match the liners and decided that this would be a great opportunity to "share" some of my children's haul of Halloween candy!  I was pleasantly surprised to see the colour theme of pink and green when I arrived at the party!

Down on the Farm!

I loved creating this one and putting it all together!  Two year old Malia was having a farmyard themed party and I was asked to make a cake to fit the theme!  I was happy to hear how much the birthday girl liked it!
As with other cakes I've done, I got a little carried away with the details, but they're what make it so fun and give the cake a bit of character! I was also happy to find the bit of gingham ribbon I'd hoped I still had, it added the finishing touch!

The only criteria for this cake was that it have a barn, pigs rolling in the mud, ducks swimming in the pond and Malia's name and age.

This cake is completely edible.  The bottom tier and the barn were both chocolate cake, while the top tier was white.  All barnyard animals and other details were made of fondant.

Baby Shower Cake Pops!

Cake pops for a shower to welcome a baby girl, something I'm not very familiar with!  They were half chocolate and half lemon, yum!

Bobcat for a Birthday Boy!

This cute cake was made for a little guy who loves construction vehicles, specifically Bobcats!
It was a 6" round and was completely edible!  Both the base and the Bobcat were chocolate cake covered in buttercream and fondant.

I was also asked to make mini cupcakes to co-ordinate with the cake.  Using the same colours, I used a simple swirl of buttercream accented with cookie crumb "dirt".  They were vanilla buttermilk cupcakes.  Love the colours, so bright and vibrant!
